Great Drive, Great ValueStrengths: Quiet, Fast, Great Diagnostic Software Weakness: Could use 8MB cache standard. It's 8MB cache counterpart runs about $25 more for some reason. Great drive for the price. I was searching for a replacement drive for an old 15GB that bit it the other day and this seemed like the best value for the buck. Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80 GB Internal Hard Drive -...Strengths: Quiet, reliable, fast access, quite cool Weakness: none so far I've been using this harddrive in my external case for one week now. I've done massive file transfer using windows xp without any problems. I am also able to play games using this harddisk as an external harddrive without much loss in performance. It doesn't get hot easily as far as I'm concern.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80 GB Internal Hard Drive -...Strengths: cost, ease of installation in XP Weakness: only 1 year warranty I purchased this for $89 before a $50 in rebates bringing the price to $39 for a 80 GB drive with a 8 MB cache. The drive is very quiet and runs cool. I am currently using this in a RAID array without any problems.

Strengths: Quiet. Cool. Easy support for XP/Linux
Weakness: none
I have used this drive for over 2 years in multiple (10 plus) partition configurations. Performs well in all tasks. I have NEVER heard this drive operating.
