AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (1.47GHz, 256KB, 266MHz, Socket...

Strengths: Very nice Price/performance Ratio

Weakness: The core in vulnerable to being crushed

I don't know what the other dude who reviewed this cpu is talking about (obviously he doesn't know very much about hardware) This processor can hold its own against intels P4s quite well. Granted it generates a substantial amount of heat, but what processor of the ghz class doesn't?!

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (1.47GHz, 256KB, 266MHz, Socket...

Strengths: Fast chip, good game play, right price.

Weakness: Runs very hot.

This is a decent midend chip that can run pretty much anything. I have no problem playing bf1942, vietcong, splinter cell, etc at full graphics, highest detail and no lag what so ever. Only problem I have found is that it does run hot. Other than that it is a great chip.

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (1.47GHz, 256KB, 266MHz, Socket...

Strengths: It's a good allrounder

Weakness: It generates heat (typical AMD) and is very slow at playing games with.

This would be a good clocking computer for beginners but i dont want to recommend it to people that plays games like Battlefield 1942 etc... it cant handle those because of the low clock.
