Corsair RAM with heat spreadersStrengths: Heat spreaders keep RAM cool; decent performance; lifetime warranty Weakness: Only C5 timing I am building a HTPC that only gets so-so ventilation in a closet, so I want all of my computer components to have good thermal characteristics. With the massive heat-spreaders on these babies, these Corsairs fit the bill! I have not been able to measure the temps, but they are solidly built and slightly hot to the touch. That's a good sign in my book, as they are removing the heat from the RAM, allowing it to be "taken away" via my case fans. I pluged them in and they worked as is, without going into the BIOS. After running memtest, I then went back and made tweaks to the timing & voltage to get the most out of them. Note that they only have C5 latency, so are not the fastest. Excellent PC2-6400 memoryStrengths: Heat disapation is excellent. Modules stay very cool. Weakness: Very tall heat expanders. Had some difficulty with clearance in home theater enclosure, but, was able to make it work. This is an excellent performing memory module. The heat exchangers do an very good job of keeping the ambient temperature under control. Just need to be sure to measure the clearance for your case to be sure the taller modules don't have an issue with the case cover. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great DDR2 RAMStrengths: Great quality Weakness: none I bought this Corsair XMS2 DHX DDR2 Kit to use on Dell Inspiron 530 and it works great! My system's performance under Vista is greatly improved with faster running speed. The 1.8V working voltage is good for dell desktop since the motherboard only supports this voltage and many DDR2 memory kit cannot be used on Dell desktop. Overall, the quality from Corsair is always perfect. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHXStrengths: This memory works very well. I have not had any problems with it, though time will tell if it is really that good. Weakness: none. I have always been told by my friends that Corsair is the best but never tried it. This memory is a great deal. Go ahead and get this 2gb of RAM. You wont regret it. Works great in my DellStrengths: Recognized memory immediately. Runs fine @ 1.8v. Great price with rebate. Weakness: None so far. Wanted to upgrade the memory on my Dell 530 but found I couldn't alter the voltage from 1.8v to the higher voltages required with other memory sticks. I had no clearance problems with the heat exchangers, and memory was recognized without a hitch. Very nice performance improvement. No regrets, especially at $38 price. High Quality, Name BrandStrengths: Price, Heatsinks, Voltage Requirements. Weakness: None. Brand name memory at a budget price. Heatsinks are big, but slim enough that they don't touch when installed next to each other. Runs at 800Mhz even at the rated 1.8v, which is hard to find in fast RAM. Most want to run at 1.9v and higher, making it difficult to find PC2-6400 that will run as rated on (your) 1.8v motherboard. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400 DHX
Strengths: I got 8gb/s on the benchmark on sandra runs cool dont have to do anything to it except plug it in.
Weakness: Fiddling with rebates!!!
Next go around with the rebates, I'll likely pick up another pair of these so I have four matched modules . . . . even though it's not a 'show' case. RAM is dirt cheap right now . . . buy, buy, BUY!! I've got them running on an Intel DG965WH mobo with a P4@3.0ghz along with a pair of 512mb non-DHX XMS2's. No issues at all.
