GeForce 7600 GS (256MB AGP 8X)Strengths: With its advanced chipset, this high powered card works well in conjunction with nVidia's PureVideo decoders for viewing dvds and videos on a large screen. Weakness: The AGP 8x interface may be a bottleneck for this card. Not recommended for hardcore gamers with money to spend. This card was introduced to a media computer system with older parts and only supported up to AGP 8. Wanted a card to work with the PureVideo decoders and supported DirectX 9 hardware acceleration to play HD content on a large screen and this fit the bill for about $110. froogle gave me the wrong productStrengths: I got the item within 24 hours with the default shipping - very impressive! the card is good replacing a very old nvidia card ( 4800 ) or something - but can run fear @ 1024x768 Weakness: none that I can think of I was at first going to get a 7600 gt but when I entered 'xfx 7600 gt' into froogle and hit the lowest price it gave me this product so i bought the 7600gs instead of the 7600gt by mistake - I didn't realize the mistake till I got the product - so my fault but just be aware! anyways the card is good enough Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? XFX GeForce 7600 GS Video Card
Strengths: Solid performance....Well worth the price I paid!
Weakness: None that i'm aware of.
Took out the old 5200 Geforce in my three year old Dell Dimension 8300 and it was a huge differents...No lag on the games that I play...I had it up and running in 15 minutes...The CD that installs it was very easy...

I am in the same boat, I have an old dell 8300 and want to add the 7600 so I can play bf2142. My question for you is did you upgrade the psu? The 8300 comes with a 305 watt power supply and the card requires a 350 I think. Have you had any power issues?
